Our Riding Experience is a 90-minute program that includes riding and horse management. Includes an additional one hour for your party picnic.
Group Riding Experiences for everyone 7 yrs. and older!
Spend some time outdoors discovering the wonderful world of horses. We begin by fitting each rider with an approved safety helmet. You will receive a lesson in horsemanship and grooming. Then, we’re off to the arena, where you’ll learn some riding basics, like mounting and holding the reins, steering, stopping, and going. We’ll also teach you how to lead your horse safely.
Things to know:
Wear long pants and boots with hard soles and low heels. We have helmets to loan.
For the safety and comfort of riders and horses, the rider’s maximum height is 6’0′′ with a maximum weight of 175lbs. The final decision is at the sole discretion of the Riding Academy.
Please note that Sweetwater Farms is not a special needs riding program. Many special needs riders require specially trained instructors and horses to ensure their needs are met and everyone is safe. We don’t want anyone to be disappointed, so PLEASE call to discuss any riders you have concerns about.
After we dismount and return to the barn area, you can head to the picnic tables. You’re welcome to bring lunch or refreshments and stay for one hour.
