Training, Leases + Board

Our Training Barn and Show Team are for the rider who owns or leases their horse. We customize your riding program to meet your personal needs and goals. Many riders ride on our Show Team, while others choose only to show occasionally or not at all.

Advantages of training at Sweetwater Farms

  • Whether you show or not, your program can be as challenging or casual as you desire.
  • We host five county-level GSDHJA shows each year. Our students can compete right here at the Sweetwater Farms grounds. Participating in our shows can accrue points towards year-end awards for GSDHJA. Shows offer classes at the Walk to Trot level to advance classes, such as 3′ 6’’ Jumpers. In addition to showing at home, our Show Team attends GSDHJA county-level shows.

Show Team

Box Stalls available for horses in training | 12 x 12 | inquire for price

  • Includes bedded stall, feeding, and cleaning two times per day. The feed includes either or a combination of Alf/Bur cubes and Bermuda and Alfalfa Hay.
  • We included a maximum poundage of feed and shavings in our monthly price.
  • Additional feed and shavings can be added to your monthly bill.

Full Training for the Rider Who Owns or Leases a Horse | Inquire for price

  • Includes four professional services per week, which can include any of the following PLUS Daily Turn-Out
    • Service:
    • Lunging
    • Schooling Ride
    • Lesson on your horse
    • Farrier + Vet appointment assistance

Partial Training (trainer’s approval is needed for this service, unavailable for children) / inquire for
price.

  • Includes two lessons and one professional service per week.
  • Owners are required to perform all daily care as provided in full training.

This is a great opportunity for you, as a rider, to progress in your horse experience and as a stepping stone to owning a horse.

Full Lease a show horse / Inquire for prices.

  • If we do not have an appropriate horse, we will outsource and find the perfect match for you!
  • Annual fees for leases vary depending on which horse you lease and your expectations.

Full or Partial Lease an Academy Horse | Inquire for prices

  • This is available for select Academy Horses.
